Forest Dawn in Rainforest Country

Some mornings are memorable not because of a single standout sighting but because the whole forest seems to awaken in layers.

Today began with distant barbets, then drongo calls sharpening the canopy edge, and eventually a close Malabar Trogon that held long enough for every guest to appreciate the colors properly.

We spent as much time listening as watching, using the soundscape itself as a map of habitat structure and activity.
